What is Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy?

Psychoanalytic psychotherapy is an evidence-based talking therapy that draws on the theories of psychoanalysis. It helps you explore and address underlying issues, often from your past, that are impacting on your current life and relationships. It differs from other therapies as it aims for deep seated, lasting change by helping you to develop a greater understanding of yourself and your anxieties as a way of reducing distress and improving your quality of life.

Psychoanalytic psychotherapists have undergone extensive training over many years and strictly adhere to the code of ethics and professional conduct of the British Psychoanalytic Council. For more information you can visit their website at www.bpc.org.uk
